Lingerie Football League (Miami Caliente) Tryout’s
May 22, 2009
I was pretty excited to finally get to play some team sports again since high school. It was pretty cool stepping foot onto a real arena looking up and out into the stadium and seeing how huge it was! We warmed up, did our group stretching, and then some basic individual testing. We began the drills of passing and catching the football and tackling the pads the coach was holding.

National Bud Light Commercial
May 22, 2009

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was when I got the call that I got it! It was my first ever casting I went to and I GOT IT, Whooo Hoooo!!…. AND it was NATIONAL and a well know client BUD LIGHT…what!!??!!? I was almost dizzy from the reality of it all!
The waiting room was filled with all these models and actresses which was quite intimidating. I was pretty frazzled from trying to find the place and a parking spot in South Beach. Then find the right room in this huge building, change into my bikini, and sign in before the cut off time, which was in five minutes after I walked in. My turn came up not long after I had a chance to sit down and breathe. I walked in, took my cover up off and stood in front of the camera in my bikini. They took a few front, profile, and back shots went over a few things then that was it, incredibly short! I stopped off to meet with a designer before heading home and come to find out any and everybody had gone to this casting. My hope narrowed with this realization and the last thing I would expect the next day was that I… Amanda Newton just landed this job!
It was an extremely early call time 5:45 a.m. so I didn’t get any sleep the night before since I had to be up and start getting ready at 2 a.m. I had to go through lots of security checks to get in and through the port of Fort Lauderdale, it was on one of the cruise liners. No we didn’t go on a cruise, it stayed docked, and if your were on the bridge on 17th Street Causeway you could actually see the beginning part of it getting filmed up on the pool deck. I watched all the lifts and cranes lifting all the cameras and gear onto the ship as a bunch of crew members all scurried around. Once we boarded the ship we went into a room where they went over the itinerary, put our stuff down, then headed to breakfast. Now you know the economy is getting bad when they have air plane seats on a cruise liner! We didn’t have much time to eat before they started calling for us and one by one got plucked out for the different roles they were ready for. We sat shoveling food down our throats hoping that we didn’t hear our names at least for a few more minutes. Once you did, you had to go rush back into the room to change and touch up your hair and make-up, then out on set.
It was extremely hot on that pool deck! We were out there for a pretty long time getting everything set up just so, making tiny adjustments, filming multiple takes in multiple variations. I felt bad for the guy in the thick furry bunny costume, he must have been dying in there! So yes… it is a comical commercial, you will be laughing! We obviously had to hold Bud Light bottles, and an interesting secret they do to keep you from drinking the beer is they put vinegar in it, ewwww does this smell awful! To kept the bottles appearing ice cold and inviting there is a guy whose sole job is to kept misting our bottles with water to make it appear as if it’s condensating. With how hot it was outside he had to keep making those rounds almost every five minutes!
We moved to another location on deck in the back, now it’s almost noon and even more scorching. It was so hot I felt like my flip-flops were melting to the deck! We finished up this scene and then it was lunchtime. We were told we were done with all bikini shots, so we chowed down big time at lunch gorging ourselves because we were so hungry! When we got back into the room, oh surprise we need one more bikini shot… ahhhhhh!!!! We all looked at each other like you got to be kidding me as we all overstuffed ourselves. We sucked it in, literally, and did what we had to do. We wrapped up all the other multiple scenes from casual fun games, karaokee, lounge, dance club, etc. We were all so starving and just beat tired after nearing our 16th hour of filming we were delirious. When we weren’t on camera we would sneak to the kitchen and eat cookies then run back.
It was a long long long day and night, the excitement of it all had definitely worn off as I stepped off the ship at 11 p.m. Just makes you wonder what it’s like to film a movie! Now I just can’t wait to see it on TV and be like that’s meeee!
Capristan Swimwear & Eldamont Handbag Fashion Show @ Gulfstream Park
May 16, 2009

I was already excited to do this show because it was in the middle of the D1 Grand Prix Professional Drift race and car show and I am totally into this kind of stuff. On my way there I kept hearing about it on the radio! The weather was blazing hot and blinding in the sun one minute and humid rainy and dreary the next… not a good thing for an outside fashion show. We were all sticky, but luckily all we had to model were bikinis. Read more
“Splashdown” Re-grand opening of the Clevelander Hotel
May 13, 2009
I went for my audition and he immediately liked me and booked me on the spot. I had a few pictures e-mailed to me the day before of the stage area, where I got my first look at how big the stage was and all the lighting all around it. It was a weekend long bonanza, with celebrity appearances, bands performing, all sorts of events and of course the model showcase. There were three rounds sexy club dress, lingerie, and then swimwear. When I got there we were all put in this room upstairs that overlooked everything. They didn’t want anybody to see us till after the show so we just had to sit up there and wait. Finally it was time to begin.
Backstage to get out to the front you had go up some stairs, stand on a narrow pathway, then had to climb over all these beams, swing around a wall and just pray you didn’t get stuck, trip, or fall off trying to get out there. I wasn’t too nervous for the 1st round, but I just wasn’t expecting that many people. The crazy part is in between the rounds to change into your next outfit you had to 1st get back over all that stuff, run through the kitchen, wait for an elevator that took forever, then run down a hallway back into that room and then rush back though all that to get out there for your next round. More and more people showed up by now and the diminishing sun made the visibility of the audience even less and the glaring of the lights more blinding.
After the rush to oil yourself down for the last round and run to the bathroom to wash it off your hands, the swimwear is over and now we all have to go out there line up smile and pose for some pictures. I made a new friend there so I decided to stay around and hang out with her and some of her friends at the bar, which were pretty cool and chill. After a good time I left and went home.
I must say on a side note, it was absolutely nauseating having to listen to the conversations of some of these models backstage and hear where their mindsets are and how much of a diva they think they are and above everybody else. It’s actually refreshing to meet another model who is normal, down to earth, and their world doesn’t revolve around their looks and which doctor they are dating. This is why my new friend and I were able to pick each other out, we were the only ones that kept to ourselves and looked uncomfortable. Now we were all smiles as we observed all the nonsense, shook our heads is disbelief, and laughed about it over cocktails.
